Effie George is a Sierra Leonean gospel singer and songwriter, who has released several songs, prominent amongst them is ‘Worthy is the Lamb’, ‘Gratitude’, ‘Fit for Praise’ and her most recent song ‘A nor go beg’.
It’s no gainsaying that Effie is a new kid on the block with a deep-rooted passion to become a magnet of attention and with a great appetite to leave footprints on the sand of history in the gospel music industry in Sierra Leone and beyond. Her songs in the embryonic stage of her singles speak for themselves; as they are completely rapt and fluid with international flavour.
As it is, Effie’s songs have gradually touched the hearts and minds of many believers drawing them into a deeper connection with their faith and spirituality.
Accordingly, Effie George started her early career singing as a backup singer in her church. She gradually moved on to leading worship and praises and eventually became a professional gospel singer in 2023.
Effie holds the view that her inspiration to becoming a professional gospel singer is a mandate from God, due to her close relationship with God. A mind-set she had developed since her growing up as a child. Whilst growing she has always thought about what she could give back to God for saving her life and blessed her with the gift of singing. Spiritually charged as she is, she chose to sing about God, his love, and mercy.” God inhabits the praises of his people “. – which means God dwells on our praises.
